It was a beautiful day in September when one of my best friends, Darla, and I left Roy, Utah headed for Oklahoma City to fulfill a dream that was a part of me since I was a child. To make a professional recording glorifying the Lord through song.
The drive to Oklahoma City was wonderful. Darla and I had a chance to relax and get away from the daily chores of being wives and mothers. Enjoy each other’s company and God’s presence. We were able to stay with dear friends of mine living in Oklahoma City, Rev. James and Arlena Burnsworth. Bro. James was, at that time, the Secretary and Treasurer to the Oklahoma District of the Pentecostal Church of God and Sis. Arlena was the district PLA director. Their hospitality and Christian fellowship was a blessing beyond words and I will always be grateful to them for the time spent there.
Having only enough money to pay for 8 hours of recording time (including the mix) I knew the Holy Spirit’s presence would have to be mighty in that recording studio, and He was. It was amazing how quickly we went through the songs and how few retakes were necessary. I could feel the anointing of the Holy Spirit and His presence so strong that at times it made my knees weak. I will also always be grateful to Johnney Walls the production engineer for his patience and expertise in making me feel so comfortable as I was a very nervous first timer. Without him I doubt we would have finished it all in time. He was wonderful.
